The Proton Center was conceived as an advanced facility for proton therapy, integrated within the existing hospital complex of Humanitas.
The project combines technological innovation with architectural continuity in relation to the surrounding buildings.
The architecture is defined by two distinct volumes: the technical bunker, compact and enclosed, and the public building, bright and open to the exterior.
The façades are characterized by a modular skin in dark burnt-earth tones, reflecting the identity of the Humanitas complex.
The architectural language reinterprets the traditional elements of the existing campus in a contemporary way.
The cement marmorino finish and the metallic brise-soleils contribute to visual comfort and solar protection.
The interiors, spacious and filled with natural light, are designed to create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining a strong connection with the outdoors.
The surrounding landscape provides shaded areas and improves the environmental quality of the building.
Greenery is conceived not merely as decoration, but as an integrated and connective element throughout the hospital campus.
The building incorporates sustainable solutions, including geothermal energy, photovoltaic systems, and a high-efficiency envelope to reduce energy consumption and maximize indoor comfort.
